About Us
Stepping Out Dancewear is a family business, owned and run by myself - Tracy Humphrey. I bought the shop in October 2009 from the previous owner who wanted to retire after running the shop for 15 years. It was already a well established business, my aim was to build upon that and aim for a fantastic reputation within the local dance community. Myself and two of my three daughters have always had a love for dance.
I have done many kinds of dance over the years and am currently focusing on Ballroom, Latin and Street-Dance. My two daughters do every kind of dance from ballet to break-dancing and we have all been heavily involved in shows and competitions for many many years.
Chloe, my 17 year old, is my Saturday sales assistant, she is a fully trained pointe shoe fitter and can offer lot’s of advice to customers having danced since she was 3 years old. My Mum, Judy, who is an invaluable help to me, completes the team.
We completely re-furbished and re-branded the shop in December 2009. The result was a bright and modern shop which customers enjoy being in. We have 3 comfortable fitting rooms and a dedicated shoe fitting area.
Stepping out is a SHOP based company, we strongly believe in quality of service and delivering the best customer experience. With professional advice and fitting on all of our products that cannot be found on the internet. Incorrectly fitted shoes and dancewear can lead to discomfort and injury. At Stepping Out we pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome to everyone and providing the best customer service available.
I firmly believe that we offer a service that can’t be matched elsewhere, dance shoes and clothing really need to fit well and at Stepping Out you can take your time and try on as many items as you need to and we are here to help and advise you. We maintain excellent stock levels, but if we don’t have the item you are looking for, such as a certain pair of shoes, we are more than happy to order it in for you.
We hold uniform lists for many of the local dance schools and always have uniform items in stock. So whether you are a beginner or a professional dancer Stepping Out can provide you with expert knowledge and fitting to insure the very best dancing experience which you won’t find anywhere else!
